1智慧子听父亲的教训，亵慢人不听责备。 | 1A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke. |
2人因口所结的果子必享美福，奸诈人必遭强暴。 | 2A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence. |
3谨守口的得保生命，大张嘴的必致败亡。 | 3He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. |
4懒惰人羡慕却无所得，殷勤人必得丰裕。 | 4The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat. |
5义人恨恶谎言，恶人有臭名，且致惭愧。 | 5A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame. |
6行为正直的有公义保守，犯罪的被邪恶倾覆。 | 6Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner. |
7假作富足的，却一无所有；装作穷乏的，却广有财物。 | 7There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches. |
8人的资财是他生命的赎价，穷乏人却听不见威吓的话。 | 8The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke. |
9义人的光明亮，恶人的灯要熄灭。 | 9The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. |
10骄傲只启争竞，听劝言的却有智慧。 | 10Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom. |
11不劳而得之财必然消耗，勤劳积蓄的必见加增。 | 11Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase. |
12所盼望的迟延未得，令人心忧；所愿意的临到，却是生命树。 | 12Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. |
13藐视训言的自取灭亡，敬畏诫命的必得善报。 | 13Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded. |
14智慧人的法则是生命的泉源，可以使人离开死亡的网罗。 | 14The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. |
15美好的聪明使人蒙恩，奸诈人的道路崎岖难行。 | 15Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. |
16凡通达人都凭知识行事，愚昧人张扬自己的愚昧。 | 16Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly. |
17奸恶的使者必陷在祸患里，忠信的使臣乃医人的良药。 | 17A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health. |
18弃绝管教的必致贫受辱，领受责备的必得尊荣。 | 18Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured. |
19所欲的成就，心觉甘甜；远离恶事，为愚昧人所憎恶。 | 19The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil. |
20与智慧人同行的必得智慧，和愚昧人做伴的必受亏损。 | 20He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. |
21祸患追赶罪人，义人必得善报。 | 21Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed. |
22善人给子孙遗留产业，罪人为义人积存资财。 | 22A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. |
23穷人耕种多得粮食，但因不义有消灭的。 | 23Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment. |
24不忍用杖打儿子的，是恨恶他；疼爱儿子的，随时管教。 | 24He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. |
25义人吃得饱足，恶人肚腹缺粮。 | 25The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want. |
