1若不是耶和华建造房屋，建造的人就枉然劳力；若不是耶和华看守城池，看守的人就枉然警醒。 | 1Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. |
2你们清晨早起，夜晚安歇，吃劳碌得来的饭，本是枉然；唯有耶和华所亲爱的，必叫他安然睡觉。 | 2It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. |
3儿女是耶和华所赐的产业，所怀的胎是他所给的赏赐。 | 3Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. |
4少年时所生的儿女，好像勇士手中的箭。 | 4As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. |
5箭袋充满的人便为有福！他们在城门口和仇敌说话的时候，必不至于羞愧。 | 5Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. |
