1以色列人要说：“若不是耶和华帮助我们， | 1If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; |
2若不是耶和华帮助我们，当人起来攻击我们， | 2If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: |
3向我们发怒的时候，就把我们活活地吞了。 | 3Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: |
4那时波涛必漫过我们，河水必淹没我们， | 4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: |
5狂傲的水必淹没我们。” | 5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. |
6耶和华是应当称颂的！他没有把我们当野食交给他们吞吃。 | 6Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. |
7我们好像雀鸟从捕鸟人的网罗里逃脱，网罗破裂，我们逃脱了。 | 7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. |
8我们得帮助，是在乎倚靠造天地之耶和华的名。 | 8Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth. |
