1心中的谋算在乎人,舌头的应对由于耶和华。 | 1The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD. |
2人一切所行的在自己眼中看为清洁,唯有耶和华衡量人心。 | 2All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits. |
3你所做的要交托耶和华,你所谋的就必成立。 | 3Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. |
4耶和华所造的各适其用,就是恶人也为祸患的日子所造。 | 4The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. |
5凡心里骄傲的,为耶和华所憎恶,虽然连手,他必不免受罚。 | 5Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished. |
6因怜悯、诚实,罪孽得赎;敬畏耶和华的,远离恶事。 | 6By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil. |
7人所行的若蒙耶和华喜悦,耶和华也使他的仇敌与他和好。 | 7When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. |
8多有财利行事不义,不如少有财利行事公义。 | 8Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right. |
9人心筹算自己的道路,唯耶和华指引他的脚步。 | 9A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. |
10王的嘴中有神语,审判之时,他的口必不差错。 | 10A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment. |
11公道的天平和秤都属耶和华,囊中一切法码都为他所定。 | 11A just weight and balance are the LORD's: all the weights of the bag are his work. |
12作恶为王所憎恶,因国位是靠公义坚立。 | 12It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness. |
13公义的嘴为王所喜悦,说正直话的为王所喜爱。 | 13Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right. |
14王的震怒如杀人的使者,但智慧人能止息王怒。 | 14The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it. |
15王的脸光使人有生命,王的恩典好像春云时雨。 | 15In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain. |
16得智慧胜似得金子,选聪明强如选银子。 | 16How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver! |
17正直人的道是远离恶事,谨守己路的是保全性命。 | 17The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul. |
18骄傲在败坏以先,狂心在跌倒之前。 | 18Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. |
19心里谦卑与穷乏人来往,强如将掳物与骄傲人同分。 | 19Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. |
20谨守训言的必得好处,倚靠耶和华的便为有福。 | 20He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he. |
21心中有智慧必称为通达人,嘴中的甜言加增人的学问。 | 21The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning. |
22人有智慧就有生命的泉源,愚昧人必被愚昧惩治。 | 22Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly. |
23智慧人的心教训他的口,又使他的嘴增长学问。 | 23The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips. |
24良言如同蜂房,使心觉甘甜,使骨得医治。 | 24Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. |
25有一条路人以为正,至终成为死亡之路。 | 25There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. |
26劳力人的胃口使他劳力,因为他的口腹催逼他。 | 26He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him. |
27匪徒图谋奸恶,嘴上仿佛有烧焦的火。 | 27An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire. |
28乖僻人播散纷争,传舌的离间密友。 | 28A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends. |
29强暴人诱惑邻舍,领他走不善之道。 | 29A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good. |
30眼目紧合的图谋乖僻,嘴唇紧闭的成就邪恶。 | 30He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass. |
31白发是荣耀的冠冕,在公义的道上必能得着。 | 31The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness. |
32不轻易发怒的胜过勇士,制伏己心的强如取城。 | 32He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. |
33签放在怀里,定事由耶和华。 | 33The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD. |
