1犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬第四年，尼利亚的儿子巴录将先知耶利米口中所说的话写在书上。耶利米说： | 1The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying, |
2“巴录啊，耶和华以色列的神说： | 2Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch; |
3巴录曾说：‘哀哉！耶和华将忧愁加在我的痛苦上，我因唉哼而困乏，不得安歇。’ | 3Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest. |
4你要这样告诉他：‘耶和华如此说：我所建立的我必拆毁，我所栽植的我必拔出，在全地我都如此行。 | 4Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land. |
5你为自己图谋大事吗？不要图谋！我必使灾祸临到凡有血气的，但你无论往哪里去，我必使你以自己的命为掠物。’ 这是耶和华说的。” | 5And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest. |
